Getting to Ocean Bay

Our restaurant is situated at the North end of Swanage Beach. Swanage is a gateway town for the World Heritage designated 'Jurassic Coast' - a 95 mile stretch of coastline that uniquely portrays the geology from the Jurassic period in a nearly unbroken sequence. The Dorset coast is largely comprised of AONB - Area Of Natural Beauty - and makes for spectacular touring, whether offshore by boat, or driving, hiking and cycling the many scenic inland routes.

Near Bournemouth and Poole, Swanage is nearly a world to itself: nestled amongst the Purbecks with unspoilt views across the Channel to the Isle of Wight, it boasts a fine sandy beach and lots of great countryside walks nearby, with summer festivals and a growing live music calendar to liven the evenings.

If you are visiting Swanage for the first time it is worth taking some time to see some of its various attractions, but make sure you don't miss one of its most rewarding...

How to use the buoys

Lift the yellow pick up buoys near to the pink buoy. Pick one you want to moor to, trace along the rope until you find the thick rope with a loop in the end. Attach this to the cleat on your bow or stern.

Charter a boat

Why not charter a boat for your next visit: Take a cruise down the Jurassic Coast and stop off for a special lunch... the Princess Motor Yacht Academy offers a range of yachts and powerboats from their base in Poole Harbour. Click here to visit their site.
